Advanced Video Distribution

Digital video is an integral part of the SmartShack wiring backbone. With two RG-6 quad shielded coax cables running to each room, the homeowner has a multitude of options available. All cables are run in a homerun configuration to allow for the highest flexibility. With the smartshack network the homeowner is able to:

Watch Television In Any Room

Whether the main source is cable or off air antenna, all video is amplified and distributed to each room with a quality equivalent to or better than the signal that arrived at the home.

Add Channels To Your System

Since each room has both a TV port and an Internal port, you can add “sources” to your system easily. Sources are added by inserting a video signal onto an unused channel from any wired room in the home using an optional modulator. Some examples of common modulated channels include:

Baby Monitor: Imagine being able to switch to channel 34 in any room in the house to see the baby’s crib (via a camera installed in the baby’s room) and instantly know what’s going on.
Front Door Cam: Imagine having the front door video on channel 37. If the doorbell rings you can switch to channel 37 to see who’s there. An even more advanced Whole House Control System could pop up this channel in your Picture-in-picture automatically
VCR or DVD Distribution: Distributing a video source allows viewing of a movie in any room in the home. You can begin watching a movie in the Great Room and watch the last ½ hour in the bedroom, even utilize the sleep timer on your TV.
Satellite Distribution: A common request is to distribute satellite signals to each room in the home. With a distributed audio system including IR you can even change satellite channels from any room in the house.
